Serein Properties was honoured to serve as Title Sponsor of the 2026 Time to Shine Gala in support of the VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation and the closing of the $35 million Greater Than Cancer Campaign.

This year’s gala brought together an extraordinary community of leaders, healthcare professionals, philanthropists, and partners in support of advancing cancer care, research, innovation, and technology across British Columbia. Together, the evening raised over $3.1 million in support of this important and life-changing campaign.

At Serein Properties, we believe in the power of “human spaces and human experiences” — a philosophy that reflects how we think about the built environment and the role it plays in shaping wellbeing, connection, and quality of life. During the evening, Angela Chapman spoke meaningfully about this alignment, reinforcing the shared belief that environments — whether in healthcare or in communities — have a profound impact on human experience.

We are deeply grateful to VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation for the opportunity to support this milestone campaign and to contribute alongside so many generous donors and partners who made the evening such a success.

A special thank you to Chef Paolo Casagrande, the three-Michelin-star chef of Lasarte Barcelona, for curating an exceptional culinary experience, and to Guillem Sanz Obach and David Seijas of Gallina de Piel for travelling from Barcelona and generously sponsoring the outstanding wine program for the evening. Their contribution brought a truly world-class dimension to the experience.

It was also a privilege to incorporate elements of innovation throughout the evening, including an AI-driven opening video that reflected the role of technology in advancing cancer diagnosis, treatment, and care — aligning with the spirit and purpose of the Greater Than Cancer Campaign.
